I started teaching art at Mt. Abe in 1995 after receiving a BFA degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and my MEd from Saint Michael's College. I have served as the Teacher Leader for the Fine Arts Department for the past ten years. Prior to my current position I worked as a commercial photographer for twelve years, both in the studio and on location.
I love teaching art and I find many parallels between teaching it and creating it. On any given day it can be exciting, challenging, rewarding, enlightening or amusing but it is always humbling. Both activities keep me grounded through the innate desire to create and to share that journey with my students.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors – running, biking, gardening, taking walks and spending time with my husband, family and friends.
