I first came to Mt Abe in 1990, having taught science the 2 previous years in Burlington, so my wife and I would both be teaching on the same school year calendar. I have never regretted my decision to do so, teaching and living in Addison county has been a very positive experience and one I think comes through in my teaching. Besides the beautiful setting of Addison County, working at Mt Abe for the last 3 decades has given me the opportunity to grow professionally, starting out at first teaching middle school science and then over the years taking on additional duties. Currently I am teaching high school science half time and spend the rest of my time handling duties ranging from being a PowerSchool administrator responsible for scheduling and pulling data as required for a variety of needs to managing all standardized testing.
When I am not teaching or doing my best to help the school to function properly, I enjoy being outdoors gardening, walking and spending time at the lake or traveling with my family. I also enjoy cooking, local history and working on projects around our home. In my spare time, I also help to manage one of the cemeteries in Vergennes, organizing the old records and helping families and funeral homes prepare for eventual burials in the graveyard.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your family's lives over the decades, I enjoy my time in the classroom and appreciate the opportunity to get to know each of your children and sharing my joy and interest in science with them.
