I am a middle school educator with a passion for project-based, interdisciplinary learning. I serve as the science specialist on Team Apex and as a STEAM teacher leader. I love working with and learning alongside middle school students and am committed to ensuring our middle school program meets their unique developmental needs. I started working at Mt. Abraham in 2009, right after receiving a master's degree and teaching certificate from Antioch University New England's Environmental Studies program. Prior to embarking on my career as a middle school teacher, I worked as a naturalist and environmental educator for a number of different organizations across the Northeast including the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Chewonki Foundation, the Tin Mountain Conservation Center and the Adirondack Mountain Club. I earned a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, located near the fruit farm where I grew up in Western NY. I currently reside in Lincoln with my husband, my twin girls, my dog and a small flock of laying hens. When I'm not at school, you'll find me with them (minus the chickens) exploring the forests and rivers near our home or on hiking, biking or boating expeditions in the mountains of NH or NY.
