I am a science educator with a love for exploring for our local landscape, and a passion for connecting people to the natural world. I have been a 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Mt. Abe since 2017, and I have been a Vermont licensed middle level educator since graduating from Champlain College's Teacher Apprenticeship Program in 2012. I earned my bachelor's degree from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina in 2001, and settled in Vermont in 2004. I am married and have four children. When I am not teaching, I am often taking my family on hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing excursions in the Green Mountains and New York's Adirondacks, where I am from originally. I raise trout in the classroom each year, and involve kids in project and place based education as part of Vermont's Trout in the Classroom program.
