About Me

I am proud and excited to start my teaching career at Mt. Abe as the Team Apex Social Studies teacher.  I grew up in Newbury, VT, and moved back to the state nearly a decade ago after living all over the world.  My passion is working with young people: after earning my Bachelor's degree in English from Skidmore College, I coached snowboarding in Alaska; when I returned to Vermont in 2011, I worked in mental health, serving at-risk youth as the field director for a wilderness therapy program.  

 

Last year, I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Master of Arts and Teaching, and am licensed in secondary Social Studies and English.  I am still active in snowsports instruction, working weekends and holidays as a staff trainer and coach at Stowe Mountain Resort. In my spare time, I enjoy paddle-boarding, mountain biking, and adventuring with my wife, dog, and two young sons.  I am honored to be part of MAUSD, and look forward to making learning fun and engaging for all students.
