About Me

I teach social studies and history because I love the story of people and their interactions with their world and others.

My classroom motto is "Respect all, including yourself; kindness costs you nothing but means the world to those you bestow it upon."

Vermont has been my home since birth and much of my childhood was spent out of doors, riding horses and roaming around the woods and fields with my siblings while growing up in a multigenerational home in Shelburne.

I attended Champlain College for a Bachelors of Arts (2004) after which I was a paralegal in a Burlington law firm. Following my calling to teach as so many in my family have done before, I attended the University of Vermont for my Masters in Teaching (2009).

After a year of working as a paraprofessional with trauma impacted students at Essex High School, I taught for four years at Burlington High School (2010-2014), and have been happily at home at Mt. Abe since the fall of 2014.

Travel is one of my great passions and sharing travel with my students is, to me, truly rewarding and fulfilling; I have safely traveled with students to eight different countries on two continents and look forward to adventuring with my eagles as soon as safety permits.
