About Me

I am a native of Vermont but grew up in Southern California where I spent a lot of time in the Pacific Ocean.

In 1994, I began my teaching career at a middle school in Los Angeles County where I taught Earth Science. I took time off from full-time teaching to stay home with my two children, but continued studies in geology with field work and earthquake research on the coast and in the deserts of California.

Our entire family moved to Bristol in 2006 and both of my children attended Bristol Elementary School and graduated from Mt. Abraham. I have worked at MAUSD since 2008 where I started at Bristol Elementary in the Special Education and Literacy departments. In 2013, I started at Mt. Abraham and taught English, Science, and Social Studies on middle school teams for 4 years. Since 2017, I have been teaching high school science focusing on the Earth and Space Science courses. While geology is my passion, Astronomy is actually my favorite course to teach, and I love sharing the wonders of the Universe!
